I've shown them here before a few times, a photo contest website I submit to once in awhile www.bestfoto.com . There are no prizes or anything, more just for fun. Thanks for all the support and ENJOY ! Snagged another "Pic Of The Day" today with Gene Simmons check it out here:
I updated the artist "quotes" page with some very kind words from a few people. You can find this section at the main page under the Calender link. It says " What the musicians, and industry pros have to say". I am very honored by all of the comments I have been given regarding my work.
The newest additions come from Charlie Benante and Scott Ian from Anthrax, of which I am absolutely humbled by. I grew up as a HUGE fan of the band and both of them, and to now consider them friends, and have them say great things about my work makes me very proud. There are also new quotes from Jason Bittner from Shadows Fall, and my good friend James Lomenzo who is currently laying down the bottom for Megadeth. James has been in the business for a long time in several bands such as Black Label Society, David Lee Roth, Slash's Snake Pit, White Lion and others.
Here's what they have to say: Charlie Benante- "Chad Lee Captures the Moment! that's the bottom line. When you see a Chad Lee photo you get the feeling that you're there. The only thing missing from his Photo's is the Sound! Now if he can only create an mp3 photo...." Scott Ian- "Chad Lee isn't just a photographer, he's one of us !!" Jason Bittner- "In my years of being on stage there are guys who take pictures and there are guys who capture historic moments that may never happen again. Chad Lee is a professional who never wastes time "looking for the shot", he already knows where it is." James Lomenzo- "Chad is my new "photo-god"... truly, a man not afraid to jump in the trenches and get his lens wet! A righteous dude and a man I call my friend!"
The day we have all been waiting for, Vinnie Paul is back behind his drumkit where he was born to be ! The new band HELL YEAH, features Vinnie, Chad and Greg from Mudvayne, Jerry Montano(Danzig/Nothingface) and Tom Maxwell also of Nothingface. As i mentioned in my last post, I spent day at rehearsals with Shadows Fall last week, and was able to hear some of the new music from their upcoming major label release. If you were already a SHADS fan, you will LOVE the new stuff, straight up kick your ass heavy shit. I look forward to a great year for those guys !
Below are a few photos from Friday's rehearsal.
Spent my birthday today fairly uneventful, which was actually ok. SPent a good portion of the day lounging around, catching up on some sleep, and of course ended up not being able to stay away from the computer and working....lol . I celebrate the 2nd anniversary of my 17th birthday today . The paperwork may say I'm 34 but as I'm told I still act like a teenager.
Got back home from NY late Saturday night. Had a very productive 3 days out there with Jason Bittner. We got alot of work done for upcoming projects that I will announce as they come along. We spent part of the day Friday in Mass. at Shadows Fall rehearsals. It was great to see all the guys, as it had been quite sometime since I had seen everyone. The band sounds great as always, be prepared for 2007 to be the year of the SHADS ! I snapped a bunch of great casual shots while they practiced, I'll put up a couple later in the week. On a side note, I would like to personally thank Jason and his beautiful wife for all of their hospitality over the weekend, you guys rule !
I also wanted to announce and share with you the upcoming release of Jason's book " Drumming Out Of The Shadows - The Music Of Jason Bittner and Shadows Fall". The cover features a photo taken by yours truly, this marks my second book cover in the past year. As soon as I have details on where and how you can order/purchase the book, I will let you know. Below is the cover.
Hope 2007 is treating everyone well so far, will catch up as the week goes on. Chad
First off....HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone ! Hope you all had a happy and safe holiday season. This year is already shaping up to be a busy one for me. I am heading to New York this weekend to do some work with my brothers in Shadows Fall, haven't seen them in quite awhile, so it will be nice to see them, and I will be getting alot of work done with them for various projects.
Below are 2 brand new DEAN GUITARS ads that will start running in all the magazines, featuring 2 different photos that I took of our deeply missed friend and brother DIMEBAG. These photos were both taken done by me just down the street from his home back in October of 2004. This was the first photo shoot he had done since going back to Dean. To say the least I am as always, proud to see my work in print, but very honored to be a part of this campaign. These are also in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the ML. ENJOY ! CHAD
